After previewing the song during a surprise appearance at Coachella earlier this month, Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter have officially released “Bring Your Love,” the lead single from the Queen of Pop’s forthcoming album Confessions II. The drop follows the release of “I Feel So Free,” the introduction to the sequel to 2005’s Grammy-winning Confessions on a Dance Floor, which spawned the global hits “Hung Up” and “Sorry.”
Produced by Stuart Price, “Bring Your Love” trades the sleek, ABBA-esque Eurodisco of those earlier hits for a house-pop vibe in the vein of Madonna’s 1990 smash “Vogue” and Inner City’s 1989 single “Good Life,” which is sampled in the new track. Lyrically, the song takes aim at the comments section: “Your vision of me is a killer of joy,” Sabrina sings before Madonna quips, “I know where the bodies are buried/Don’t try to shut me up.”
Madonna is no stranger to collaborations with contemporary artists. In the years since her last album, 2019’s Madame X, she released a series of duets and remixes, including the Queens Remix of Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul,” “Popular” with the Weeknd and Playboi Carti, and “Vulgar” with Sam Smith.
